Easy Wallet Recovery

Instead of requiring the use of 12-word phrases or private keys, NoFun Labs' technology features easy wallet recovery via decentralized ID (DID).

How Wallet Recovery Works with BrightID

Any person can make a BrightID by installing the app and scanning some QR codes. Once one does this, a unique ID is created that identifies oneself to apps without revealing any personal information.

Here's how setting up one's account with BrightID works:

  1. User installs our app or visits our web portal

  2. User clicks or taps "Create New Account"

  3. A new multisig wallet is created for the user. This multisig is where they will store and accumulate their web3 assets

  4. A new wallet private key and public key pair is created for the user. It is assigned as the sole voter for using the contents of the multisig

  5. User connects their BrightID to their account. This makes it so that any wallet that proves ownership of that BrightID can change the wallet that is the 1 signer on the multisig

Then, let's say a user loses their phone. They get a new phone, and can recover their wallet like this:

  1. User installs BrightID on their new phone

  2. User recovers their BrightID

  3. User installs our aapp or visits our web portal on their new phone

  4. User clicks or taps "Recover Account"

  5. User connects their BrightID to their account

  6. A new wallet private key and public key pair is created for the user. It is assigned as the sole voter for using the contents of their original multisig
